If you operate a business, office, or data organization whose success is dependent on an efficient network cabling system, it is important that you hire a professional cabling contractor to design, install, and maintain the infrastructure as required. A cabling contractor is a professional who provides expertise in the design of voice and data systems in commercial environments such as factories and business offices. A network system involves a combination of software, hardware, and wiring installed and operated according to the standards set by the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BISCI). To get a professional to install a problem-free network cabling system in your business premises, these are the qualities you should look for in your potential

           Do Some Research

Before hiring a contractor, try and scout for a wide variety of them so you can have a bigger pool to choose from when evaluating your options. One way of ensuring yourself of the credibility of contractors is doing thorough online research. Look out for customer reviews that provide insight into the contractor’s honesty, professionalism, and technical expertise. Ask for leads and advice from fellow business partners who have network systems installed in their work environments.

           Creating A Request For Proposal

The next step is to create an RFP, a request for proposal. An RFP is a document that will inform possible bidders of what you are looking for, and offer them the opportunity to convince you that they are the best candidates for the job. Make sure that you put in all the relevant information in the RFP.

An ideal strategy is to start by introducing your company. This is important because bidders will want to know if the network system is intended for a mall, hospital, or business office. After introducing your business, give an overview of the project. The overview will dictate the installation of the network communication system required depending on the various applications it will be intended for.

Provide a particular outline you want the bidders to frame their proposals so that it’s easy for you while doing your review. Don’t hesitate to ask them to breakdown the costs while making their proposals.

Include a due date of submission on each RfP that you send out to bidding contractors. Make it clear that submissions received after the due date will not be put under consideration.

           Conclusion

Once you have received all the proposals, go through them and make your choice depending on which

           cabling contractor

seems the most qualified and can do what you need them to do at the best price. Reach out to the contractor who has won the bid and discuss how you are going to enter into a formal business agreement or contract. At the same time, make the other contractors who submitted their proposals aware of the direction you have chosen to take and thank them for submitting their bids. This will help you maintain a good business relationship and increase the chances that they will want to work with you in case your choice does not work out for any particular reason.

Most businesses also neglect the cabling of data and voice systems until the last minute takes place just before moving to a new location or building. Most qualified information systems perceive it as a low priority or something that excludes actual network resources such as servers or software from their budget. A cabling system normally takes around 5-7 percent of your infrastructure components but is as important as the other 93 percent consisting of software, servers, computers, hardware, routers, installation, service, and other components. If the cabling arrangement is not functioning properly, the remaining 93% of your devices will simply not work properly. Many relevant questions to ask

How long am I going to be in the cabled facility? More than 5 years, or more than 5-10 years? This will decide whether you choose a simple solution for

or one that will meet your needs for years to come.

What are my plans for growth expected? Cabling for only one user per office or just for your needs today limits your capacity and productivity to quickly add users in the future with increased costs.

What should I expect from assurances or commitments? Many manufacturers offer performance guarantees for 25 years, and some contractors who do the job properly the first time can offer lifetime guarantees.

Do I have VoIP, or will I do it? You want to be sure that your cabling framework–speech, data, fiber optics, backbones –can help it as it relates to cabling if you are contemplating VoIP in the coming years or now possess this technology. The latest is that at each location with VoIP, you can get by with only one cable outlet. This will restrict the future plans for shooting, handling and that issues when an additional cable is quite inexpensive at each location built at the same time.

Sometimes, when you're testing, it seems you need an extra hand. For example, you need a hand to hold the connector when using our FiberInspector Pro MPO camera, a second to hold the camera, and a third to run the phone or Versiv unit and display the images. Most of the time, it's not a big deal–you have a free hand to handle the phone or Versiv, for example, once you get the cable attached to the device. But in some situations, if you had that third hand, it might improve productivity. Since we're not in the business of prothetics, we've been looking for an alternative to additional limbs. The outcome is a prototype of a concept that we will show in Las Vegas on September 30 at Fall BICSI

We're going to assume you're familiar with the FI-3000, the camera that lets you grip on more effective inspection of MPO. If not, check out the details here, but what's a "rugged Android tablet portable HMT-1?" It's just an Android head-mounted unit with a high-resolution micro display that sits just below your sight line and looks like a 7 "laptop. This helps you to see the show down and look up to see what you're working on. This features advanced voice recognition for monitoring even in noisy environments with four microphones. And as it works from -20 to+ 50 oC, is resistant to dust, water and drop, it can work almost anywhere.

The demonstration allows customers to use the Android version of the FI-IN application to monitor the FI-3000 via the advanced voice recognition command system of the HMT-1. Users may manually or automatically focus the camera and trigger an optional Autotest that scans the fibers on the endface and then provides a PASS / FAIL result that shows whether the endface is clean in compliance with IEC61300-3-35. In the head-mounted monitor, the user can then see the endface and use the voice commands to zoom in and then rotate across the entire endface by simply moving their head.

Five Big Mistakes Made When Hiring A Cabling Contractor

           Mistake number one

–Blindly choosing the lowest bidder This is the most common mistake when building cabling for the voice and data network. The contractor who is the smallest, who has the least experience or who made a mistake on their deal is often the lowest bidder. A site visit to your workplace will tell you most about an entity you need to know.

           Mistake number two

–Choosing the component supplier to be built Most companies have tried to standardize on a single cabling device manufacture. Belden, BerkTek, Panduit, Comscope, Ortronics, AMP and Leviton are some of the larger manufacturers. With any of these big names, you can't go wrong. Nonetheless, IT administrators and business executives are holding on trying to standardize as they believe it will make things easier for the IT workers. The reality of the situation is that if you choose any of the larger names the only components that might not be interchangeable are the faceplates.

           Mistake number three–

Too much cost for the new cabling technology The fact is that the future network components and network components of today can not meet the Cat 5E and

           Cat 6 cabling

components requirements. Combine this with the fact that every 3 to 4 years the average company is going. You'll find it hard to take advantage of a house that you don't use in the future. Look at your current infrastructure, what devices or apps are you planning to add or upgrade? Was Gigabit or 10 Gigabit Ethernet in the near future a choice for you?

           Fault number four

–Not using universal cable or a contractor that meets BICSI guidelines The EIA / TIA and BICSI both suggest a universal cable network for your communications infrastructure. This will ensure that universally accepted practices are met–wouldn't you have complete work in your office with an electrical contractor that you wouldn't have been licensed?
